The Academy of Country Music BBQ Throwdown takes place this weekend at the Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino in Las Vegas. This highly anticipated comp, which is drawing 100+ teams from all over the country to compete for top honors and a $50k purse, promises to be a good one!

From taking a quick look at the long list of teams, it appears there are several IMBBQA "regulars" that will be there competing down there such as Bam Bam BBQ, Got Smoke Bar-B-Que, IAB 30 BBQ, Little Miss BBQ, LoneStar Smoke Rangers, Pork U BBQ, Trailhound Smokers BBQ, Sin City Smokers, and R&R BBQ (please excuse me if I missed others!!)

*** This comp WILL count towards the 2012 IMBBQA TOY / ROY awards*** (even though registration for the TOY/ROY awards will continue up through 4/15/12)
